family tribe

My goal is to capture natural, organic looking backdrops, good natural light, minimal ‘posing’ but I will gently guide you with a mixture of playing games lots of cuddles, kisses, hugs and laughs. As a Mom myself, I know how valuable it is to freeze time while kids are still young, growing and changing.

The best shoots happen for those that come with a ‘go with the flow’ mentality, natural vibes and stress-free. Kids will be kids regardless of what the parents want and I want to embrace that, not force them into fake smiles. Poised and perfect isn't the vibe that we’re going for. Let the kids be creative, let them run, let their hair get tangled, jump in a puddle. Just remember because in 10 years time this is exactly what you want to remember, every little detail of your tiny human. My creativity grows in the moment, when I see a ray of amazing light hitting your face. Or when there is a really beautiful moment happening.

I want the in between moments. The messy real family love. Bear hugs, piggy back rides, dirty hands, grass stains, jumping in puddles, wind swept hair and goofy faces. I want you to really show me what your family dynamic is about. I want you to be able to look back in time and see your kids personalities shining through the images captured in our session.

For example: When I was 3 years old our family went to get family photos done at Sear's in Canada, I spilt ketchup on my shirt, so my Mom hiked up my skirt so they couldn't see it in the photo. I don't remember anything about the photo's being taken except the story that she told me growing up. Every time I see that photo I remember the funny story. My goal with photography is to be able to capture a memorable moment in time so you can tell your own stories.

Be yourself, relax it doesn’t need to be a stressful process and let's make some unforgettable memories, because those are the best stories to tell.
